For the first time in a long time I went to a group shoot, set up by Tiera Marie, down at the very cool Flying Leatherneck Museum on MCAS Miramar. She had some great cars brought out for the girls to shoot with, but I was there to shoot with planes. Soooo I might have just drooled on and talk about cars, but I didn't shoot with any haha.
Being shy and pacing myself all day I ended up just shooting with my friend Felina Vie. I can't help it I am a quiet shy guy! I'll always go with the one I have chemistry with already! And when I processed them I kinda was feeling the black and white thing so, no color this time.
Natalie came down to shoot in the field of flowers near me, where we shot some great stuff 2 years ago. This time we didn't shoot at the beach afterwards, but we still got more than enough images to keep me busy in post processing for a little bit.
I used my CheetahStand Quick Soup Bowl 26in that I always use, with the same ol' AD200. I was wishing I had more power and a bigger modifier at first, but then I had to hang everything at an awkward angle on a small hill and was glad my set up was light!
I love shooting with flash outside. The AD200 usually has to be cranked WAY up, and I usually take out the main diffusion part of the 26in QSB. I think the light coming out of it still is great.
We had a big flower bloom here in Carlsbad this year. Two years ago we had a big one, but last year there wasn't much of anything. This year is was pretty amazing, though. I did two photoshoots out in the fields, and this was the first one.
Felina Vie was nice enough to drive up from San Diego to shoot some with me in "home" flower fields. No smashing poppy fields here. These will probably be parking lots in a year or two, sadly!
Here is a little before and after with my light in the shot.
A couple years ago I did this shoot with Lucy O'Doll wearing awesome stuff put together by Cheri at Wonderland Corsets . The stuff came out awesome, I reprocessed them today, and want them to be on this site, so here they are!
Last year I wanted to try a slightly different light set up than I normally use, and Natalie was nice enough to shoot with me at Wonderland Studios. I had a big PCB 72in silver umbrella with the cover on it, and v-flat on the other side. Just big soft light, which works great with a model as rad as Natalie.
I did this shoot earlier this year with Natalie in a spot I have used a couple times. I haven't ever gotten the colors to a point where I liked them in my post processing, so I gave it another shot today. I like this better than my earlier attempts. I am not the best with color so I like to use Infinite Color Panel to help me figure out what I like.
